Keep getting Disconnected from Internet

Hi people

I have finally cracked and now have given up!

I used to just put up with the problem, but tonight has been really bad.

For some unknown reason. I keep getting disconnected from the Internet. It is mainly after 6pm. I can play on my 360 10am - 6pm and not get disconnected once. After 8pm i can get disconnected every 20 ish mins. I get disconnected from live and also get disconnected from the Internet.

I don't understand anything about networks and i have no idea where to start. The only info i can give you is.

We have 2 desktops on the network and 1 xbox 360

My pc and 360 are wired connections to the modem/router.

Pc down stairs is wireless.

I am on ADSL with bt via Orange Broadband.

I use a netgear router DG834G V3

I MAINLY get disconnected at night.

Where do i start????

I had the same sort of problem once, with a netgear router like yours i dont think it was the same.

To cut the answer short i brought a new router and it was all fixed! lol i took the easy way out.
 
Well funny you should say this, i have just tried a different router. Had an old one. Connected straight away. So i will see what happens. Thanks for the input :)
 
Can anyone explain this....?

I have changed the router and have noticed the following!

Signing is to xbox live is quicker.
Viewing peoples gamer tags is quicker
My voice is clearer and so are other peoples over xbox live

Input anyone?
