Keep GTX 680, or upgrade

Looking to upgrade my graphics card, but don't know if it's worth it? Thinking about the upgrade for battlefield 4. I get pretty good FPS on BF3, so expect to get similar on BF4. Is the upgrade worth it for a GTX 780? Or shall I just stick with my card for a bit longer.

depends which 680 it is if its a evga 2gb reference one, then you can give your old one to me and upgrade yours

(serious answer, just wait and see buddy, chances are you will be fine, if not, get rid and upgrade !)

Wait and see how it runs on your card.

Worst case scenario, BF4 will run on your card (you may have to reduce the settings a bit) if you are not happy with the performance you can then order an upgrade card and have it with you in a couple of days.

well if ya decide to upgrade, and when you have 1000 posts, let me know, i might take ya 680 if ya dont need it any longer

chances are you will be fine with a 680 on BF4 though

It may be a long time until I reach 1000 posts. I am sure my card will be in a landfill in Africa at this point.

Yeah, I suppose you're right. With the new series from AMD coming out in the next few months, and Nvidia new generation set for Q1 2014 I think waiting will be the best option.

That's what I'm doing have the money saved up but I'm hanging on for few months more really want to see what AMD an Nvidia come up with.

Yeah I will do the same. To be honest I get good performance on BF3, so I hope BF4 won't be different.

Totally pointless seeing as the 680 right now is more than enough for current titles. Ridiculous to even consider it now when 1 - BF4 is not even out 2 - By the time it is new cards will be around and/or current cards will be cheaper.

No point at all unless you like to throw away money for a slight increase in smoothness. Waiting for the 20nm cards is the most sensible option.

bf3 is bf4 different maps.

bf4 beta 4 weeks

wait till then then try then buy new card if under performing which it wont.
