anyone know why any possible easons as to why i keep loosing my internet connection when downloading something for more then about 5/10 mintues when the speed gets to about over 150kb/s and then wont come back unti l restart?

I have a linksys network thing, my internet connection is wired, think its from ntl. the connection is at home, and im 1 of 5 on the network.

any more information needed? and if so how do i find it out?

can be very annoying, for instance, trying to download visa now, but it looses internet after a while so i have to restart but same problem

Maybe when it gets to 150kb/sec its too much for your router and "kills" it until you have disconnected from the Internet therefore your Internet cuts out?

Do you have capped broadband also?

I used to get this problem, but now I have stopped receiving so much crap, mine never cuts out which is fantastic :D

i haven't got a clue on how i'd do that. Its my mum who does it all and as she doesn't know very much about that subject she wont let me do anything to it, i can't even look at the name of it while she is there as she'll think im going to change something n it and break lol. but anyway i have found that if i loose my net, i can unplug it from the back of my pc and replug it and then it works straight away :s, ok solution for the moment as it measn whatever im downloading i can continue.

what might this mean though?
