Keep router safe

So it seems i have to keep factory resetting my router and configuring it to get my multiplayer games working properly.
Do any of you wizards know how to make sure the router gets untampered with.
FYI the router i am using is a tp linker archer 11000.Ethernet only)

I always do.
It seems telnet and ssh can allow others to change your router settings.
Apparantly i have to do something with the ports .
Its frustrating as my online games have issues especially shooters.
I just want a safe router settings that cannot be tampered with.

I doubt any issues you are having are due to people logging into your router from outside. Describe the symptoms and write down all the equipment you have, your ISP etc.

Can you disable telnet and ssh?

No i am quite serious.
I have to factory reset my settings to get games working thats only temporary.
Initially i thought my multiplayer issues were related to vpn. This was not the case after resetting the router.
I would like to know why mainly.
If there is a way to prevent my router settings being altered would like to know, as my networking skills are limited.

Have you got portforwarding enabled? I am led to believe that can be a security issue.

No entries in portforwading.
Also Qos was enabled which limits my bandwith but that was not enabled so yes the settings changed.

Connectivity setup, ie wireless, wired. ISP. What's actually happening? What settings are being changed?

Anything on the network can access the router login page but without the password it's no use

i have tried bf 2042 , deestiny 2 halo mcc and infinite.
Now so many issues have arised its impossible to play a fair game.
Yesterday for about an hour was working perfect.
Now its horrendous.
