Just setting up my KeePass database and was wondering is it safe to just copy and paste passwords from database to browser or best to install keefox add on?

What I do..

Go to the username box, alt-tab to KeePass. Find & highlight the KeePass entry, tap CTRL + V, it will then alt-tab back to your browser, it will type in the username, then it will tab and type in the password.

After this, it will wipe the clipboard.

I just press the "Perform Auto Type" button within KeepPass. It looks like little blocks and is one to the left of the "Find" Magnifier icon.
That will enter the username, password, "press enter" and wipe the clipboard in one click.
Just make sure you've clicked into the correct input box on the website before you start off.

I'm tempted with KeePass. Is it easily transferable from PC to Android Phone and vise versa? How would you keep both updated.

Dropbox. Though I only ever update the database in Windows, so I can't comment on that side of things. Also I didn't bother with a keyfile, so I don't know how well that would work if you were to use one.

Personally I moved onto LastPass, though I appreciate some more paranoid types might not trust a cloud-based solution. :p

KeePass is perfectly capable, but I found LastPass was able to assist more on the Android side (though if you use LastPass on a mobile you need to stump up).

This. From what i have read LastPass is better/easier at syncing password databases between devices.

With KeePass, from what I understand, you have to sync the encrypted password database to an online hosting site such as Dropbox, OneDrive, etc and then access the database from each device that way.

Thanks, I'm currently trying LastPass also. I wish I'd have known about the sting though. I tried the App on my phone first because I was away. Then when I got home, realised I'd have to purchase to have them sync.

Does anybody know of a program or website where I can enter my email address and see what sites i have signed up to in the past?

I'm trying to do a bit of a spring clean/security update.

It's $12 USD a year for Lastpass which works out to about £8-9 per year which is peanuts for what it offers imho!!!!

I have been a Lastpass user for 5+ years if not a little longer now and never once had any issues at all.

Just to clarify with Lastpass ONLY the mobile support is what you pay for, all of the other functions you can use for free.

I have a 14 day trial with Lastpass, seems to work well. I am just a little nervous about saving passwords on cloud storage.

All your data is encrypted before it is stored on the Lastpass servers using AES-256 encryption. The encrypting and decrypting process only occurs on your PC/device.

They also have a number of 2 factor authentication systems available to use for extra security (I use Lastpass Authenticator which runs on my smart phone).

Thanks but i am giving up on Lastpass. I couldn't get my passwords imported from Password Safe, there is no way to do it direct within the Android app and when I tried to load a Dolphin HD Browser extension it doesn't appear.
