Keeping a multi-tool in the glovebox

Is it okay to keep a multi-tool in the glove box, or would it be deemed as an offensive weapon cos it has a knife? (:rolleyes:)

Depends, I mean I keep my toolbox in the boot, along with an adjustable pair of pliers, doesn't mean I'm going to go and rob a place or assault someone, but I do have the means to do both.

If I get pulled over for whatever reason and they search my car then my defence is that its always useful to have a toolbox around, because you never know when you or someone else might need it

Well if not the glovebox, then the boot is fine to keep in, as these multi-tool's have come in so handy in the past, but I don't want to get done for having a utility tool by some overzealous cop or security warden. What would make it worse is I'm often mistaken as being in my late teens, so insert whatever stereotype people have of that age group and knives.(:rolleyes:)

Bet my van has even more!

I always wonder if id get in trouble for having a Stanley knife in my pocket, I use it a lot during my day at work (plumber) and often forget its in my side pocket so I'll have it whilst food shopping after work etc.
 
I've head out of reach of the driver before with certain tools. So in a locked boot would be fine, door pocket not so much.

As long as you're not using it in a manor that seems threatening, I think you'll be fine
 
I can't imagine anyone kicking up a fuss about keeping a multi tool of any sort in the boot or glovebox.

Well, unless they're pretty stupid.

The Police think I have a tow rope and battery charger leads but they make great bondage tie ups.
 
I carry one in my glove box that doesn't have a locking blade, just incase.

It has proved very useful when one of my coilover bolts came loose and was able to nip it up on the side of the road and get home with no dramas.
 
A friend of mine is a chef and was rather drunk and disorderly on the Tube on the way home from a double shift and double drinking session and was questioned as to what was in his brief case by a concerned copper

Police man "what's in the case? Would you let me have a look" or similar
(Friend, he's Italian) "Eezza fulla knives! Be careful not to cut yourself!"
Police man :confused:
(Friend, making action of chopping waiving a cleaver) "I use him to chop the lamb!"
Police man :eek:

After a lengthy explanation he let us on our way
 
i have a multitool in each car simply because they are so awesome. ive been pulled and searched once and they didnt bat an eye lid at it
