At the moment I spent around £5 on lunch and a light supper at work everyday. Thinking of starting bringing my own food, all I can think of is sandwich, any tips, nice recipe you guys would like to share?
£5 sounds pretty cheap, I usually end up spending £8 just on lunch!
That's ridiculous.
You can feed yourself for pennies if you want to.
A cheap loaf of bread or rolls, 50p, enough for a week.
Some lettuce, cheap cheese, tomatoes.
You can make sandwiches (which can be more interesting than my example) for pennies a day.
Spending £5+ on lunch is a choice. A choice to have food prepared for you. For that luxury you pay far, far more than the cost of making it yourself.
sorry this is awful advice...cheap bread is full of sugar which will cause your insulin to spike....zapping your energy post meal therefore your work performance will be next to useless in the afternoon. ignore bread as a staple...get more fruits, salads and veg into you, its doesn't cost as much as you would think either.
You can make your own bread if you're that worried.
But seriously, a cheap loaf of bread won't kill you. I've lived on cheap sandwiches for years and I'm physically fine.
It's not "awful advice" if you can't be arsed to spend a lot of time preparing, and the main objective is to save money. In that case a cheap sandwich is about right, no?
But please, do go on about insulin and all that jazz, I'm sure somebody cares.
