Afternoon all,

Am thinking of moving from AOL to another isp but would I still have the use of my old AOL email addresses?? or are they gone when I cancel with AOL?

IIRC there's an option to downgrade the account to email-only or dialup, but otherwise the account would be gone.

Isp's usually give up to a month until the email is taken away, but im wondering what most people do with their emails addresses, do most migrate all the sites they've signed up to over to their new isp's address or do they use a dedicated email service so this problem goes away?

For forums etc I try and use my hotmail or gmail addresses. For everything else I use email addresses at my domain name i never use my ISP email for anything

My old e-mail address was finally taken away from me. I have hotmail, but wasn't allowed to register with this forum. So I opened a gmail account (This can be pop3 - I thought this was the problem) - but this OcUK forum has banned that one too!

Not sure how to re-register a correct email address with them - I live in China, so it makes things a little more complicated!

Yeah its quite silly they do this as they will never block all the free sites out there or have any real impact on someone who wishes to cause problems.
