I buy lo salt from Waitrose which has 66% less sodium, and pour it into one of those glass jars with a rubber gasket and metal pull up clip to seal. It keeps fine.

But I found that in my salt shaker it would clump up and block the pouring holes. I thought maybe it was to do with it being lo salt. I googled this first world problem and the solution is to put uncooked rice in the shaker, about a third of the size of the shaker. It works! I've had no more clumpy salt and not had to keep washing out the shaker. \○/

Must be moisture getting in, keep it away from kitchen places where you cook.

Some salt like table salt usually have caking agents in to keep it from clumping. Maybe urs has less of it in or something?

Tho tbh, ive never found glass things good for keeping stuff like salt in. If it were me id try a different salt shaker that isnt glass. Unless your fine with using rice.

Yep, few grains of rice does the job nicely.

It does indeed. I love simple solutions that are effective.

The glass storage jar is fine, salt stays very dry. My salt shaker though is a stainless steel cover over a plastic base. This one,

Yes, I reckon there's less caking agent in my salt and that it was picking up moisture from steam at the hob. But the rice absorbs moisture and so far the salt continues to run freely.
