I know this should be very simple, but the assistant in the Tmobile shop explained that I had to do it like this, and it was the only way due to how my contract is set up apparently. I took out a new line on my current contract in order to get the phone and deal I wanted, with a month left to go on my 'old' contract. So one contract two lines.

ANd I'n like to put my old number on my new line, apparently I have to request the PUK (might be pak I forget) for my old number, transfer that to a temporary pay as you go number, then when that's done, request the puk/pak from that and send it to my new phone???

I don't have a pay as you go/disposable number to use so have to go out and get a sim or soemthing for that, sounds like a load of tripe? It's tmobile to tmobile after all?

thanks for any help!

Just call up the phone company and request the number to be moved over. If it's the same network it should be easy but you might have to call two different departments, once you get the PAC code for the old number call call them up say you want to transfer a number across from a PAYG.

They should get this done within the week and will ask you keep the phone off during the day of the transfer.

I've never seen a network that lets you port a number from one phone to another on the same network.

You'd have thought it would be easier, but apparently not.

We just did it from O2 to Orange on all our business phones, so it's doable.
EDIT: Fail at reading.... read it as different networks, not same.
