computer keeps crashing followed by blue screen. I turned off auto reset on blue screen so i could read what it says.

STOP: 0x000000c5 (0x00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x80543a5c)

i dont really know what to do from here to get it sorted. I thought it would post this while i still have the "The system has recovered from a serious error." window open.

i think it could be some sort of driver problem.

any ideas?

If it helps the error signature is;

BCCode : 100000c5 BCP1 : 00000000 BCP2 : 00000002 BCP3 : 00000001
BCP4 : 80543A5C OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 256_1

need more info

which version of windows (+ SP number)
what hardware
any recent changes

-edit, looks like xp sp2 from that last code :)

since i can only find 1 google entry, i'd suggest that it's memory or power problems

do you have another psu you can try? or ram sticks you can remove?

download this http://www.memtest.org/download/1.70/memtest86+-1.70.iso.zip extract the iso from it and burn it as a an image using nero's burn image option, or imgburn in write mode

then restart pc with the cd in and run memtest from it, it'll check your ram for errors

yep, XP - SP2

CPU - AMD 3500+ 64
RAM - 1GB Corsair
MOBO - Foxconn 6150K8MA-8EKRS NF430, S939
PSU - 430w Tagan EasyCon - TG430-U15 - 2F
GFX - 256M EVGA 7900GT-CO TV/DVI

thing is it doesnt happen constantly, and when it does it seems totally unrelated to the last time. might not happen for 3 days, then might happen 3 times in a day.

checked temperatures?

my guess is ram (def run memtest)

-what does eventvwr show you ?

start, run, eventvwr

check it just after it's messed up next time

sometimes errors like this are just caused by dodgy drivers, or perhaps you just need a format (its a shotgun approach, but it often works..)
