1 step, run memtest on just 2 or 3gb.

Might simply be one duff stick bringing the lot down.

Once you've tested them all, update the BIOS if they all check clean and still crash.

Look at the links above :)

everything is the same on cpuid,
i have the memtest running now

PS andy i added u on msn

how would i go about updating my bios too,
i DONT have a floppy disk drive or disks however, i do have pen drives

Also how would i up the voltage on the memory

pen drive should work tho i dont know specifically for your mobo. if it does support them, it should display a message on POST screen, saying something along the lines of "Press blahblah to start EZFlash" or something

download the latest bios and stick it on a pendrive, load the ezflash, update and see what happens

the link doesnt work as its in a frame i think

this is what you want

Description P5N-E SLI BIOS 1301.
Enhance compatibility with certain VGA cards at SLI mode.
File Size 446.29 (KBytes) 2008/10/16 update

wish me luck

EDIT:

Updated bios and IT LIVES !!!

any ideas on upping the memory voltages?

depending on how your board handles them, id suggest putting no more than 2.0v through the ram. My P5Q-E for example, puts 0.8v MORE through actual, than is listed in the bios. so 2.0 in bios would be 2.08 actual.

Check with the manufacturer first, to see what your memory supports at max. Though 2.0 should be fine.

IT looks like it will take 2.0v, they are at 1.8v now

how would i do this as i haven't a clue !

you can use more than that through them. stick it on 2.1 and see if it becomes stable.

also you might, as suggested above, up the northbridge SLIGHTLY. like just one increment. go into the bios (Press del at post) and in there there should be settings to adjust the voltages

should i do all 4 sticks at once or one at a time?

sorry, i haven't done anything like this before

I have the options to do
1.920v
2.013v (i selected this)
2.085v
2.178v
