Ok, so I'm wanting to take my covertible tablet into work, to use, however I want to lock it to the desk whilst I'm not there, to make sure it doesn't go for a "walk"
Are the kensington branded locks worth the extra price over the cheaper equivalents?
I know neither will actually stop someone from taking it, if they really wanted, it's just there to stop somone grabbing it as they walk past, whilst I'm not at my desk.
Are there any types of lock that are to be avoided, or best to go for? I've heard some of the circular keyed ones can be opened with a biro or something?

Cheers guys :D

Kensington locks mainly serve as a visual deterrent, at work we use the cheapest we could find at a few quid each but I've got a Kensington branded one which cost me £20 but there is no significant difference in terms of strength in my opinion although the cheap ones can tend to smell of benzidine.

Proper Kensington ones tend to be a little more upto date in terms of countering the latest simple tricks to open them - many of the cheaper ones can still be opened by simple tricks like a roll of paper, etc.

End of the day they all provide more of a visual deterrent and prevention of casual theft than stop a determined thief.
