Kentsfield > Xeon?

Was having a conversation with the boss today. Our mail server is a dual Xeon machine and we were talking about the near release of Kentsfield when i began to wonder if one would beat the Xeon rig for processing ability?
 
Which Xeon are you refeering to.
Kentsfield would be roughly equal to a Dual woodcrest machine of the same speed. However obviously you could go and buy a Clovertown machine which would be roughly double the computing power of the Kentsifield.

I assume your talking about older xeons, , dempsey, nocona or even prestonia? in which case, no question the kentsfield would be the faster.
