Certainly nVidia cards have always done better than AMD cards in Folding, in spite of the theoretical difference...

79xx are a completely different beast, more akin to the way Nvidia does their gpgpu cores. I expect if anyone bothers that a core written to take advantage of the 79xx cards will do very well. Time will tell.

But what it does seem that the GTX680 has had the cuda heart ripped out of it. But then it is the Inquirer

I'm sure more info will be available after today, but it has killed the impulse buy bit for me until I know more.
Gaming performance is nice, but crunching is a way of life :-)
