Hi guys,
i was diagnosed with Keratoconus in my right eye about 5 years ago now, and i feel it's starting to get worse, i worry for my job, as i'm a Bus driver and obviously without my vision, i'm not going to have a job for long. i don't exactly have anything i could fall back on either, don't have a trade or experience in anything else unfortunately..
i can see fine in the day time, but of a night i get extreme glare from any artificial light source, car headlights, lamp posts etc.. everything just goes blurry.

I'm off to the hospital on the 20th to see about a minor operation called Corneal cross-linking which is supposed to stop the condition worsening. I've also heard of special contacts which are meant to aid your vision but at a heavy cost.

The reason for this post really.. is to find out if any of you guys have the condition and if so, how you're dealing with it?

My brother has this condition, He had the hard plastic contact for a while but found it very uncomfortable so now just cracks on with life with his one good eye.

I have had this for 20 odd years, I get by with glasses, but also have contacts to help as well.

Have you tried scleral lenses?

Luckily your case of keretoconus can't be to bad if glasses correct it, for me they don't work and out of my right eye I literally can't see anything, it's very distorted. I have heard of those lenses but they seem pretty hard to get the real macoy over here, you can get part scleral lenses but I doubt there as good, I'll be asking about them in my next appointment to see if the NHS do them or if not, where to find them.
