Is anyone running Linux on Gigabyte 865P boards (specifically S3, S4, DS3, DS4 or DQ6)?

If so, can you run an lspci and post the output? I run a tight (as in only the bare essential devices supported) kernel, and as I'm about to rebuild my *nix box with one of these boards, I need to know what to put in the kernel to at least get it to boot. :)

Any help gratefully received. :)

That would be 965P. ;)

You might want to get the title changed to attract more knowledgeable users.

If you can wait until I get home from work this evening I could do it for you on a DS3.

Did someone forget something? ;)

No matter - I tried to compile a new kernel on the existing box and it nearly killed it.

Going to have another go, after doing some backups, which will be next week now.

It's being a real bear. The system does not have Linux on it nor have I ever tried to put anything other than Windows on it. No Live CD I've tried seems to want to boot. They all freeze while reading the CD except for Ubuntu 6.10 which got me to a "failed to start X server" message. Apparently nothing likes the X800 Pro in it. I thought I was good with that because I figured it would dump me off at a prompt after going through the messages but not so. I am simply treated to a blank screen on which I can type.

Does anybody know of an up-to-date live CD that will take me straight to the bash prompt?
