Kernel-Power 41 Error

For some reason I get a Radeon Wattman message every time I load up Windows which says "default radeon wattman settings have been restored due to unexpected system failure". I just checked the event viewer log as it did it again and it comes up with critical errors which are "Event ID 41 kernel-power". It's saying it's due to an unclean shutdown... I go through the usual shutdown process and the PC then turns off and it all seems fine when shutting down. Any idea what could be causing this?

There is also another error that keeps popping up in the event viewer which is listed as "Event ID 79 Appmodel-runtime". It says something about the xbox gaming overlay is corrupted and Microsoft.WebMediaExtensions runtime information is corrupted. Could all these be related?

I updated the BIOS on my Asrock X470 Taichi to the new 3.50 release, reinstalled windows and updated all the drivers and I'm still randomly getting the "Kernel-power" critical error with ID 41 show up in my event viewer after Windows loads up. I also double checked all connections on the board & PSU etc..

Whenever I get the Radeon Wattman has reset message then I know event viewer has logged the Kernel-power 41 error (critical error). I have no idea what's causing it and the PC doesn't crash or freeze or anything like that. It appears to shutdown and load up normally, but the error suggests the PC wasn't shut down properly.

I wonder if it could be a hardware fault somewhere? I'm just hoping its a software/driver issue somewhere... Or maybe a BIOS setting? Has anyone else experienced this at all?

I get these as well, on my new X470 / 3700X combo (I think you have something similar as I've seen your username in the ryzen threads?) My PSU should be fine, it's fairly new. I've got a log for every single time I've turned my PC on this week. Sometimes my PC will need 2 attempts to POST, if it has been switched off at the wall.

Not to sure what it is, but I think it is BIOS related based on it happening as soon as the PC is turned on and we're both getting it. I might see if my BIOS has an event viewer of any kind.

Mine is an X470/3600 combo. I'm guessing it's one of Zen 2 teething issues which should hopefully be sorted via a BIOS or AMD driver update soon. I get the error even though the PC doesn't crash, freeze or blue screen at all... It seems to function fine when in use and it appears to boot up and shut down fine. My PSU isn't that old either, it's a 750W Riotoro Enigma G2 which is essentially a Seasonic Focus Plus Gold unit.

I've temporarily "fixed" it by disabling fast start-up in the Windows power options. I'm not sure if it's a Windows bug or AMD driver problem, but hopefully it'll get fixed at some point. To be honest I don't really notice any difference with fast start-up disabled.
