Ok just got a new kettle Phillips 3000watt one, and the water tastes so unbelievably 'chlorinny' but only on occasions.

We have tried cold water from the tap, hot water from the tap, brita filtered water and everything but it seems to do it occasionally on all of these.

Any ideas what it could be?

How new is it? Sounds to me like it's not been worn in. With my kettle, it suggested filling it to the max. Boiling it. Then emptying and repeating several times. Sure, I may have desicated an entire rainforest, but it tastes good.

We have had it about 2 months or so, so it should have worn in now its really strange and can be extremly annoying.
