Ahoy chaps. I've got an easy one for you (I think). I'm using an Apple keyboard with my computer in both *NIX and Windows XP environments. The *NIXes make it very easy for me to remap a key to replace the lost "Print Screen" key that Apple neglected. XP, however, does not seem to offer such an option.

If you would, please direct me to the appropriate place in XP to remap a key to the print screen task. Failing that, please direct me to an appropriate 3rd party software solution.

What do you mean by if the keyboard allows it? Shouldn't the interpretation of the keyboard's signals be performed by the OS? How might one know if their keyboard allowed such silliness? Might such capabilities be contained in MS's intellitype bloat driver package?

EDIT: I've downloaded the newest intellitype package and I will try it as soon as I get back home to a Windows environment.

Hi

I also have a similar problem - I'm using a Chinese (US) keyboard which doesn't have a £ sign (god that took a long time to paste in!)

It's extremely frustrating, but I know I should be able to change the value of one key to another. In my case, I'd want to change something I don't really use, like the `~ key, to the £ key.

I found a web page, which tells you how to do this (including the print screen key), but it doesn't tell you the code for the £ sign, as it's an american site.

I'd be really greatful, if someone could show me what to add / change in the registry to change the ` key to the £ key.

The site I was looking at is here :

Unfortunately, again it seems to be just the keycodes for the US keyboard, and doesn't give the £ sign.

"US Key assignments are for reference to a type 101/102 Enhanced keyboard as supported by the Type 4 Keyboard layout"
