Hi all

with the birthday getting closer im thinking of getting a new keyboard.

im mostly a gamer, play lots of COD2 and at the moment a fair bit of lord of the rings online,

any suggestions for a goos keyboard is there much difference between them?

oh also i know some have little screens built in but the keyboard will be on a little shelf that pulls out from the desk top so the screen wont really be visable so this isnt really a factor im bothered about,

thanks all

Loki

Best thing you can do is to test a few, just take a wander into your local computer shop and ask to try them would be my advice. If you want a recommendation 'blind' then I'll say I've never had a problem with a Microsoft keyboard, they have the best action of any keyboard I've ever used, are generally reasonably price and bombproof. :)

I love logitech products, and have become especially fond of laptop style keyboards, I can type on them quicker, and they seem to be more responsive for gaming (smaller throw from button up to button down).

I don't rate wireless though, they always "feel" like they lag to me, especially when gaming.

I always felt that with older ones I used at friends houses etc, but I when doing a build for a friend I got him a wireless settup, and I've now got one... I'm a heavy gamer and have gone from an mx510 and keysonic laptop style keyboard, and really don't notice any lag with the more expensive bluetooth products

The G15 is a great keyboard but if you can't use the LCD display then your better off getting the G11. Exactly the same functionality minus the display

Saitek would be my choice... best I have ever used was one of the OLD clicky Dell/MS efforts though :p

WhiteDragon, that supposed to say 'Sadistic' in your sig?

I noticed the OP plays FPS games, are you an arrow key or WASD user? If you are an arrow key user like me, I would avoid both the Saitek and the G15 as it doesnt register popular arrow key user's keypresses properly due to the membrane layout. If you are a WASD user then either keyboard would be a fine choice :)
