I have a Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 7000 (Bluetooth connection) and am running Windows Vista Ultimate. I put my computer into sleep every evening and is woken when I move the mouse or press a key on the keyboard. When the computer awakes it normally takes a few seconds for the bluetooth to start and the two to become operational. Recently they have not become usable and after 10-15 secs I get a blue screen stating USB_BUGCODE_DRIVER_ERROR. All the drivers for the device are installed correctly. The only problem in the device manager is an explaination mark next to SM Bus Controller.

Any ideas?

The exclamation mark next to SM Bus controller and a blue screen mentioning USB suggests to install the latest drivers for your chipset/motherboard.
