Keyboard and mouse for ps3

Here's a daft question... I know here's an official keyboard and mouse for the ps3, but can I use them to play games? I used to be a demon at fps on the pc and never really got into them on consoles and now that I've not used a pc in years; being a mac owner, I tend to buy/play all my games on the ps3.

So will plugin or syncing a bt keyboard and mouse allow me to play games like broaderlands 2, dishonour or even xcom with them rather than using a controller.

The mouse and keyboard support is only for a very small number of games. You need to use something like an XSIM if you want to use the KBM on all games, although it's pretty dull doing so as it gives you a massive advantage over the pad users.

Xim is the best. There's Xim 3 or the newer Xim Edge. Xim 3's are harder to find but both are expensive and have to be imported from the US I think, not sure if there are any UK distributors. I've got the Xim Edge and use it for most third person and fps games on the PS3 and 360. Some games don't work cos the way they are coded but others work like you're playing it on a PC. Excellent piece of kit and I plan to use it for The Last of Us when it comes out.

Also some people consider it cheating as you have more precise control than a controller but meh, let them whine.

I do have UT3

I rarely play online, not sure if its the fact that I suck so badly or I just don't like it, but the the numbers of fps that I have and not finished are mounting up I need to do something about it.. Lol

And I do get motion sickness for some odd reason playing those games which never happen on the pc.

I'm sure it would be useful for 3rd person games too like darksiders.. I shall take a look

Edit: does xim edge work with high tech gaming mouses too such as mad catz ratz series?

Go to their forum on the official website (http://xim3.com/), theres loadsa stickies and info on there about hardware compatibility. I use a Logitech G400 mouse and Logitech K120 keyboard. Both are on their compatibility list.

Remember though, hardware compatibility may be different between the Xim 3 and Edge.
