Just restarted my computer and neither my keyboard or mouse power on. Currently on my laptop. I have reset bios by battery removal and jumper and also swapped the USB ports but still no joy...

Any ideas?

u have any other usb devices ?? are they still working ?

Just plugged my mic' in which has a little light on the stand. When I press the power button the light glows up then goes out straight after. Totally stuffed :(

Edit: Ok, now the light doesn't even shine. Let it shine let it shine let it shine :(

I placed my phone wire into all the usb ports and when my computer is switched on my phone displays 'USB Cable Connected' so my mobo seems fine...

May have to try repairing windows...

You could try unplugging the K/B and Mouse then turn the computer on and once booted into windows plug them back in ???

Oh if you are using a laser or Optical Mouse does the light at the bottom come on ???

Or do the Caps Lock, Number Lock light up when pressed (System must be powered on)

What you suggested first didn't work :(

Using a Logitech MX518 and the lights on the keyboard nor mouse come up, using a Saitek Eclipse Red, the backlights don't come on either.

They're totally un-responsive :(

that doesnt mean that the pc sees it as connected though
you need a PS2 keyboard to get into your now defaulted bios and check your usb settings....but very strange not to have any work also

just noticed you have a mx518, they come witha usb>ps2(green)-does that work?
