Keyboard and mouse stop working

Anyone else get this sometimes on my 2011 MBP my trackpad and keyboard stop working. I thought the computer had locked up but it hadn't because if I press the power button the option to restart and shut down appear etc. I have to sometimes power down my MBP and turn it on to get them working again. Very odd.

What could cause this?

Dodgy connections could cause it. May be that something is loose. In any case take it back to an Apple store and get them to look at it.

I had a bizarre occurrence like this once when the batteries died on the keyboard. After replacing the batteries I lost both the keyboard and magic mouse. Now fortunately I had an Apple wired keyboard so I pugged that in. Now I can't do lots of stuff in OSx using just a keyboard but I got in far enough to establish there was no bluetooth module being reported by the iMac. I shutdown and then powered back up and it's worked ever since. Only thing I can think of was the BT module had crashed during the funny state of the keyboard, a power cycle fix it.
