Hi,

I’d like to get a decent keyboard and mouse.
I play a lot of games, but also do a lot of programming stuff.

I need the keyboard to be wireless (I like to move it about a lot)
But the mouse can be wired if necessary (but, TBH, I'd prefer wireless there too)

Thanks

Unless your rig really kicks ass, I would not spend £100 on a mouse alone.

That money could be invested into a better Graphics Card or Monitor.

Well, my rig is a week old.

  • Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3 Intel P67
  • 2600k @ 4500
  • Corsair XMS3 8GB 1600mhz Memory
  • 2 x Asus ATI Radeon HD 6950 OC 2048MB
  • OCZ Vertex 3 240GB
  • Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB SATA 6Gb/s
  • Coolermaster HAF X Gaming Tower Case

So, it's pretty powerful.
I am looking at upgrading my monitor too (got another thread going on that one)

Well, I was thinking about getting a basic wireless set for my non-gaming use, and a wired setup for gaming.. and I don't want to have to switch and change.!

I'll take a look at your suggestion

Don't think you get many wireless gaming keyboards.
You could always get 2 keyboards for your money like these

Got the mouse myself and it's fab. If you shop about online you can get a steelseries merc gaming keyboard for £16.48 inc delivery (I got one last week and It is a fantastic board). It's not the backlit one which is shown here

but for a saving of £43 I didn't really care :)

The Mamba is a nice mouse, but it's worth nowhere near the £104 asking price. I don't know how big your hands are, but mine are big, and I don't find the Mamba comfortable at all. I prefer my SteelSeries Ikari in terms of performance. Lovely mouse, but it is wired.

The Logitech MX Revolution is about the best wireless mouse I've used, although they're rarer than hen's teeth these days.
