All my games run smoothly when i'm standing still & wizzing my mouse around.
As soon as I start using the keyboard my fps drop making my games stutter really badly. :(
Anyone now why & how to fix it?

is it any key, or just the moving keys that cause the stutter?

I'm guessing that moving rather than just looking around causes a bigger geometric hassle for the gpu/cpu, and thereby causing a fps hit.

i see the same thing going on and have just put it down to that :)

- if it is usb unplug it and put in different port
- if it has drivers download and install the latest ones
- try another keyboard, ( usb if you have ps2 or ps2 if you have usb )

Tried different port etc.
Worked fine with my old GTX 275, this is happening with my new GTX 470. Must be a conflict with new Nvidia drivers & my keyboard.

I have put the keyboard repeat rate to low which has sorted it for now as long as I dont press loads of keys at once. Is there a better solution or is this probably a "wait for nvidia to release more drivers" thing?

Have you tired another keyboard?

Sounds like drivers for the new card rather than something to do with the keyboard.

I think there must be some sort of conflict.
I dont have another keyboard or a PS/2 keyboard around to test.
With the temp fix I have done it probably wouldnt happen on a PS/2 keyboard as they dont have that option (I dont think)...

Mmmmmm. Could be some kind of power drain on the USB port I guess, bit of a strange one though.
Have you tried different USB ports (in particular if you have front and back ports, try the opposite of where it is now)?
