Keyboard continuously stops working on Asus X99

I have an Asus X99-S, and my USB keyboard (Logitech K740) keeps failing, as in suddenly mid-type, I get no response from the keys (but it's illuminated and that stays, so it's not a power issue)... sometimes it won't happen for days, and then it'll happen 4-5 times in the space of 10 minutes. Very VERY annoying... removing the USB connector and reconnecting always brings it back again... when I do that sometimes it's fine for the rest of the day, and then other times it'll go again 30 seconds later. I have read this is due to the microcode driving the USB on X99... is that a fault on ALL motherboards, or will it be unique to mine? I don't want to RMA unless I have to, but even then the problem will be replicating the fault, as it occurs at completely random times. Really don't know what to do, it's driving me crazy!!:mad:

Is the BIOS on the latest version, is Windows fully up to date.
Yes to Windows, but I've just seen that the 1305 BIOS was released at the beginning of Feb, so I'll check that out. Is this a known issue that the latest BIOS has fixed then? From what I've read online, I'm not the first to suffer this problem.

Asus X99 boards seem to have all sorts of crazy crap going on with USB. My system (X99 Deluxe) will regularly fail to boot Windows if I have my PS4 controller connected.

Try a different port, my USB devices have had problems but after changing to different ports I have almost got things working. It a real problem that Asus needs to fix.

I get this with an ozone strike pro mechanical keyboard on the board in sig. This is the second keyboard as I rma'd the first one. Yet I've lent it to a relative who ran it on his system for 2 weeks without issue. My old Logitech g15 works fine and is a more power hungry board than the strike pro.

New BIOS just released today for it (as well as the Deluxe and A). :)

X99-S BIOS 1401
1.Support USB 3.1
2.Support NVMe

Im still on the 1004 BIOS on my A, and not had any USB problems at all.

On my setup it's only with the keyboard mentioned above. No issues with various other usb devices.

Got two of the old g15 rev1 models here on my two systems, each of these boards work fine in the spec in sig. The ozone kb is ok in the old x58 system for the brief time I tried it. Sometimes it will work ok for days in my spec in sig, but other days it will disconnect several times in a few minutes. May try a bios flash to the latest version, but looking through the notes for each version there's no mention of usb issues. The problem occurs in both usb 2 and 3 slots. Certainly a strange one.

Rampage VI here, can confirm USB keyboard weirdness.

Every now and then it refuses to detect a KB at boot, need to unplug and plug back into another USB port then power cycle the machine. Then it'll detect and boot as normal.

Resuming from sleep is fine, just cold boot every now and then does this.

Nothing new with Asus. I get that with my P5Q deluxe running Win 7 if I have my Xbone pad connected.
