Is there a jumper on the mobo that will force it into the setup page where you can then change the relative settings

change usb mode in the bios to BIOS from OS

Obviously you'll need to get into the bios first though somehow, perhaps a cmos reset.

He says it's PS2 connected though.
Unless it's USB with an adaptor, but wouldn't that work just like native PS2 anyway? (does for me).
Is it a "clever clogs" keyboard with a billion features? If so, try the most bog-standard thing you've got lying round the house. It's POSSIBLE (though I've never heard of it, and it would require engineering fail of galactic proportions) that it's so flummy-laden it's forgotten how to be a keyboard until it's driver load.

I had a similar problem, but with my USB keyboard... couldn't navigate menus that weren't in the operating system.

Enabled USB mouse and USB keyboard in the BIOS and it works perfectly now :)

As said, switch off, open case, move jumper setting to "setup / daignostics", switch on, enable legacy support / usb support, save changes and exit, it should then say put the jumper settings back to normal and power off then on again..

Jobs a good un

I hate the design of those MS keyboards where you have to press F Lock before the function keys will work and it's always off by default. If you have to press F1/F2 or F-anything to get into the BIOS make sure you hit F-lock first if your keyboard has one.

Yes. This is possibly one of the most annoying things I have ever seen.

I am sure other keyboards do this too - I am certain a friend has a logitec keyboard that has the F-Lock is a very awkward position :/
