Keyboard ggrrrr......

Hi all

I have 2 pc's at home and both have the same problem with their keyboards, many of the symbols are in the wrong place e.g. # is |, sterling symbol is #, ~ is | , just a blooming mess tbh and I thought it was just the regional settings, but I have tried both UK and US settings but the same problem.

Any help please, I've tried searching google, but not even sure what the search string should be.

Are they laptops or from the same manufacturer at least? Are they connected on the same network/have the same software installed?

It sounds like both have a corrupted character map at a guess, how it happened is the more interesting question. I've not heard of any viruses that do this but it wouldn't surprise me if they exist.
