So, pretty sure this sort of things been done but just thought I'd mention it and see what sort of interest there was.
Take something like this (the well known ergodox):
Make it from mechanical keys.
Have the other half under the other hand.
Put an additional thumbstick under each thumb (one controlling the mouse cursor) kind of like how the orbweaver is set up.
Add mouse buttons to one side or the other.
Add a switch to allow it to be twin "joystick" style thumbsticks (so toggle from mouse to joystick under the left hand).
Add a scroll wheel.
All done in a tidy way so it didn't get too cluttered.
Let it have 3 full keymaps programmed to it and the usual lighting type crap we have today.
Allow a choice of MX switches.
Most of that's been done (or I wouldn't be discussing the idea here
) but taking it to that sort of extreme could be quite nice. Who'd pay.. £110 for something like that? Single colour backlight.
