Keyboard lag in all games?

Can anyone help me before I give up and reinstall vista.

I get odd keyboard lag in all games. Sometimes I won't move others I'll move after the key is released. Sometimes its immediate and others it takes a few minutes and then gets slowly worse.

Its not online lag as it affects offline games too.

Only odd thing I can mention is that my PC did this before when running XP and I'm sure it was soon after installed Daw of War Dark Crusade. Funny thing is its doing exactly the same in Vista and it started after installing DC.

Its making FPS games unplayable and if I can't track the problem down I'm going to have to re-install and try again

There is MS info on this topic if a PS2 Mouse/KB.

I cant find it but did read about it, it more so the case if you upgrade from XP but not solely that.

Thanks. I'll look into that.

If I remember last time it started doing this it stopped after a while. Having googled it there are a few who have had this sort of problem but never a specific answer. I'll check the PS2 issue though.
