Hi,

I was just wondering what kind of macros people usually set up with their macro function buttons on their keyboards. I just bought a QPAD MK-85 which I really like, and I was wondering what most people are using the profiles and macros for.

Let me know, see if we have any really interesting ideas...

( Both game and non-game related macros are good )

I have my favourite programs down my macro keys on my x4, sad really how they all correspond to the programs in my taskbar also.

Depends on program:

Chrome: login, email, password
Games: shortcuts, so in Starcraft I'll have my later control groups on the macro keys so that I can access them with my left hand.

Desktop/standard macros: Password (so i can login to apps like Skype and Steam etc) and a couple of macros for Word/Excel.

On my X4 Ive just got "Banana" on each one.....funny when my hand slips and banana turns up randomly in a conversation.

I was considering using it for my password but then realised that if anyone ever got hold of my keyboard it wouldn't be such a great thing.

Yeah, I was worried about it before but no-one ever uses my computer apart from me, and anyway it's only used for websites that aren't important, otherwise the macro actually only forms PART of passwords... makes it secure but slightly easier to enter :p

I got the Logitech G110 on monday and have yet to even consider programming the 12 G keys, let alone set up profiles.

I have assigned colours to M1/M2/M3 other than that I dont even know what those keys are for yet :D

i use a g15 blue (with 54 macro keys on left 18x3) and i also use a n52te (42 keys 3 x14 ) and 2 saitek p8000 touchpads (70 keys each 2x35) and run macros on them depending on what im doing but its all gaming stuff touchpads as flight sim controls and overlay printed cards on them keyb is for wow macros n52te i dont use that much now tbh.

just ordered a g510 to replace the g15 blue nothing wrong with it just fancied a ney keyb.

and i have my pw macroed and emails dds etc etc easier than typing everything all the time

woden its really easy to use the logitech software u can make huge macros for movent and fire in gme and push one button go make a cup of tea come back and your character will still be farming or killing or flying etc i use mine as a sort of sat nav in game or a hit kill sequence depending on what im doing

ive also got some nice insult macros for people in battle grounds and stuff

good job i do cause my typin is **** tbh

I used to have a keyboard with macros and got to the point I was forcing myself to come up with a use for them, in the end I used them for quick open programs. I even started another similar thread to yours, but there was a common ground with usefulness within RTS and MMORPG games.

Think from a logical point of view, what do you use your PC for? More importantly, are there any tasks that take up multiple key presses? Are there any games you play that have fiddly controls? If not then macros won't really make your life any quicker.

I ise one of my 54 key combinations to switch my PC to display on my TV. I also use one to bring up the calculator. I did have some programmed with things to type in games but seldom used them. Oh and I did have some rapid key combinations for a game I used to play that would allow super fast movement.

Overall I could easily live without them.
