hi.

most times when i start up my pc, my keyboard (mostly) and mouse (less often) does not work. when i unplug them from the pc and replug them in after
they work fine.

my mouse is a good few years old, keyboard is a bit younger, and the motherboard is the newest

Keyboard: Razer Deathstalker
Mouse: Razer Ouroboros
Motherboard: Sabertooth 990FX

im unsure if its the motherboard is faulty ? I didn't have the problem from the start

or if its the keyboard and mouse on the way out

any help is very welcome

Usb port devices? Are you using usb connections in front or rear? If using front, check leads connecting to mobo. Also try swapping devices from front to back ( direcly into mobo )

Firmware update

what revision of bios have you got?

ah yes,

its in the USB port at the back

on the asus update form AI suite II it says

Current bios

Sabertooth 990FX R2.0

version 2104

i had a problem with 2 Logitech G500's
Common problem is the point where cable goes into the mouse
i've opened it up and shifted it inwards, now its nice and tight and problem went away

What revision of bios have you got? Might be worth flashing.

Are you ussing Usb 2 or 3 ports? Try swapping from 3 to 2 if you're.

Youve only got 2 usb ports in the back??? Surely not. Can you specify exactly which motherboard you've got? Make sure your devices are plugged into USB 2 rather than USB 3

ah i get hat you mean.

i got 2 in use.

i got 6 2.0 ports

and looks like 4 3.0 ports

keyboard and mouse is plugged into 2.0 ports

So your devices are plugged into Usb 2 ports. Have they always been plugged into these ports? Have you tried swapping ports?

Have you got any spare Usb devices you could trouble shoot with? Possibly borrow a friends? If that fails, if youre looking to upgrade your mouse/keyboard anyways, might be worth purchasing new products. Atleast that would rule out of its a bad connection in mouse/keyboard or actual motherboard.

Obviously make sure all drivers are updated and installed.

yea, always plugged into usb 2 ports, i have just changed it to different usb ports, i might try them on my wife's pc, if same problem comes up,
