So of a sudden i got this annoying problem i cant seem to figure out.

On startup when windows is logged on, my keyboard (Qpad MK85) does not work. Can't type at all. Even pressing the CAPS LOCK the light doesn't come on.

But after unplugging then re plugging it back in it works? pressing DEL gets me into BIOS ok.

This is a clean install of windows on my new SSD.
All drivers are up to date
I even updated my BIOS today but that did not fix it.
Tried Different USB ports

What could be causing this

PC specs in Sig.

Thanks

I had the same thing happen when I had an unstable overclock; on a cold boot my keyboard wasn't recognised but if I restarted (or unplugged the keyboard and plugged it back in again) it would work fine. Try going back to stock clocks for a while and see if that helps.

Really weird, Out of no where it said my device is ready to use. Restarted pc and it works fine now o.0 :)

in fact id update bios and do a full windows update/optional downloads (drivers) if issue reoccurs.

but as it is if it aint broke dont fix it...

I have a CM Storm and experience the same issue maybe once a month. Having done some reading it seems to be relatively common with a number of mechanical keyboards, yet no-one seems to know why.

I had exactly the same issue installing a new SSD.
Keyboard was working fine after several restarts, installed keyboard drivers fine (TTesports challenger ultimate), but after I plugged in my old hard drive as a secondary drive and booted, keyboard stopped working. Unplugged and plugged it back in, done many restarts since and had no problems!
