Behind you... Naked!
I have found that I am using Linux more and more now and as such, I have also realised that my mouse and keyboards are not fully supported.

Ok, thats fine, but one thing that I have now lost, is Macros.

To be honest, the Macros on the Logiteck G510s are by far my favourite, but the GSKill and the MadCats are doable, but again, not in Linux.

The Logitech was better as I was able to record my macros on the fly, but it DID NOT save the time it took, so, once I set it, when I pressed the Macro key, it did the lot instantly, while the MadCats and the GSkill does it but also does the delays and thats near to useless for me to be honest.

Anyway...

I am thinking of buying myself a new keyboard, but, I need one that I can use fully in Linux. It does not need to be lit up or have lots of silly functions, but I would like to record the Macros properly without the delays.

Anyone have any suggestions?

You may be able to use xdotool and keypress - but that would limit you to x11.

Newer keyboards (fancy ones anyway) would have QMK so you could do this in a web browser and it'd be supported in Linux, but I'm going to go ahead and assume a g510 won't have that.

Yeah, the G510 hasnt been used for a long time and then I dug it out a few months ago and I reinstalled the drivers etc and the profiles came back and I remembered the stuff like the game setups etc

I also got the MadCats Strike 5 Keyboard and that looks a bit dudey but its kind of poor as a keyboard, it just looks the biz
For the past couple of years, my main keyboard and mouse affair, has been the GSkill KM780 & MX 780 pairing, but since upping to Win 11, the app crashes all the time and I uninstalled to reinstall newer driver and now I cannot install anything? Not really bothered to go through all that nonsence again, so I will just go looking for another keyboard or use one of the older ones.

Yes, I agree on the G510 not working well... Shame cos its a great keyboard with a ridiculously weird and cheezy Sound Cars built into it thats near to useless for gaming.

I am actually wondering however, if I can perhaps install the Keyboard drivers under WINE perhaps, just to see if I can modify the keyboard under that and then use the macros elsewhere on the setup??? At least the Keyboard wont be reset?? - I wonder if it would also work on a VM? Time to play I recon... Oh hang on.. Its 6:30am and I have been up and awake since wednesday so I better get some shut eye!
