Hi guys, I've got a Logitech g11 keyboard and in my humble opinion, it's frankly hateful. The lighting is shockingly inconsistent, the little stands on the back are uselessly flimsy and the quality of the keystroke is pretty lousy.

About 10 years ago my dad bought a p3 dell system that came with a dell 'quiet key' keyboard and it's actually a pleasure to use. The keys feel 'crisp' if anyone knows what I mean by that and the noise is satisfying.

I've got a budget of £60 ish for a new keyboard (any more than that seems a little excessive on a keyboard to me!) and I would like a new one, that is back lit and of good quality.

Your recommendations are very much welcomed,

Thanks all

Logitech K800?

- Illuminated
- Wireless
- Rechargeable

Not a gaming keyboard though, just a general use one, not sure what you're wanting it for

Maybe a tiny bit over budget? Not sure how much above £60 you want to spend

I have this keyboard and really like it, not silent, but it is great to type on :)

OP

I second the above suggestions, Sidewinder X4 is a great budget choice. If you fancy splashing out though, you can't beat the QPAD MK 85 Pro. Tis an amazing keyboard, but a pricey bit of kit. I would go with the Sidewinder as it's in your budget range. Only downside of the X4 in my opinion is it isn't mechanical:(

The Saitek Cyborg V5 is also a good choice ( my friend has one and he swears by it ), and is also within your budget range. Slightly weird looking though!

you have £60 - buy a mech board.

you wont regret it. personally, i would wait for the CM Storm Trigger with MX Red switches which is going to be with us soon. but the one we have on offer now with black switches linked above is still a great board.

they use the same OEM as Filco which means you will be getting a superb quality board for not a massive amount of money.

you could buy a membrane board but it simply, wouldn't be very good.

That does look great.

However I have the thought in my head that a mech board would be loud to type with compared to a membrane board...?

(not wishing to hijack the thread btw..)

^^^^ Would like to know the same.

What are the benifits? are they noticeable when gaming?

What can i do better with a cherry red than my Cybourg V7?

Cheers for advice :)

I have the Corsair K90 mechanical, it's a great board, main difference is the way the key responds to touch/tap, easy to press but very springy, like instantly depress it and it feels like it will return the key at the same or faster speed and in game it does help having very responsive keys as I found out while I was waiting for the k90 I had to use a regular membrane keyboard and it was shockingly slow.

Do they make mechanical keyboards which don't sound like a Roman Imperial Legion is arriving on your doorstep?
