Keyboard problems within CSS

Hey guys. Seem to have a problem, just within CS:source. Basically I'd be playing as normal and my keyboard will lock up, which ever button I was pressing when it freezes is the button that's seemingly 'pressed in', even though it isn't.

I've never had any problems before with my keyboard untill today (I've been playing CSS with this board for the past year). There are no problems with my keyboard unless I'm in CS:Source.

The problem seem's to temporarily fix itself when I press ESC a few times, it then becomes unfrozen, but the problem will re-occour within 15 or so seconds. Sometimes my keyboard will even stop responding in game.

I have done a spyware scan (as I do every day) and I am clean. I've deleated my configs and re-made them within CSS > Options > Keyboard settings and still have had no luck.

My keyboard is PS2.

I thought I'd post this here as a clan mate also had the same problem within CSS, he says it fixed itself and the problem is no longer an issue, which leads me to beleive it's a problem within source and not my machine/kb.

Cheers

Cool. Gonna buy myself a USB Keyboard then. Funnily enough, I do have another keyboard but the wire is too short for where the tower is sat. Look's like I'm just going to have to make do untill my new rig is built.

I have tried pretty much everything, verified game cache, defragmented, re-built my game configs, done a disk cleanup, taken the keyboard appart to make sure there's nothing making the conectors stick when the keys are not being pushed down. Virus scan clean, spyware scan's (adaware/s&d/xoftspy) clean.

Again, this is an issue only within Source. It doesn't effect browsing, documenting, photoshop, anything else but CSS.

The only option left is a format, there's no way I want to do that and there's no reason why I should have to.

Hey guys, thank for your help on this.

I think i've solved my problem. The wire, which is on the right side of my keyboard had always been stretched across my desk, as it was long enough, but it was tense (if that makes sence).

So I figured it could be a wire issue, at which point I took the keyboard appart, firstly to clean off the connectors/circuit sheet incase anything was sticking, and secondly to see if any of the wire were eaiter over stretched or just simply disconected from the LED circuit board which it is connected to - this wasnt the case so I put the board back togeher.

Attempted to place Source once again, same problem - I'd done everything and I was getting ready to unleash the rage, haha! Last thing I tried was wiggling the wire at the back, when i bend it back on itself it's fine, when i let go of it, it takes over my Keyboard for me, only stops when I push the wire in and bend it back/kink it, so it's blaters a problem with the conectivity.

I switched to an old crusty keyboard that only has one tilt stand (it now has a rolled up subway voucher in there to compensate) and this seems to work fine. Played CSS with no apparent problems for a good 20 minutes, so hopefully that's the problem resolved and I'll have to make do untill I can afford a USB Keyboard.

Thanks for your help guys, much appreciated
