Keyboard problems

For some reason my keyboard has today decided it wants the left shift key to perform tabbing. On a possibly related note I can no longer use the left and up cursor keys simultaneously in games or use the right shift key with a, q and 1 - for uppercase forms of those I need to use the caps lock.

It's a Logitech di novo using Setpoint 4.8 on Windows 7 64-bit. I've disconnected and reconnected the keyboard, rebooted and made sure that the only keyboard language is English (UK). I've not installed any remapping software or made any changes to the PC, and cannot think of anything else it could be apart from a dying keyboard. Google doesn't come up with anything as far as I can see.

Any help would be much appreciated, though I have consigned myself to the fact that I probably need a new keyboard :(

Sounds like a lose connection somewhere. With the change in outputs caused by a missing or additional bit changing the value of the key pressed. my guess would be keyboard on the way out. try it in a different pc/laptop to confirm the fault stays with the keyboard not the OS.

If it does your keyboard is goosed, if it were me i would open it up and see if i could fix it, in all likelihood it will just be the membrane slipping off the PCB connections.

Thanks for the reply :) Have just tried it with a laptop with the same problems.

Nice idea about the membrane, hadn't thought of that! I took the left shift and left cursor keys off and had a quick look but couldn't see anything untoward. I even tried again by just pressing the PCB bits underneath, to no avail; it does indeed look like the keyboard's cream crackered.
