Just took delivery of a new keyboard today, ozone strike pro mechanical model.

Plugged into a usb 2.0 port on the rear of my case via an extension cable as the fitted cable is too short. When connectiong my phone to the front usb port the keyboard lights go out and it stops working, also get the same when connecting the phone to the usb hub on the keyboard. But a few times it has stopped working when no other usb device but my mouse is connected. Using the latest drivers from the ozone site.

My guess would be that there isn't enough power running through the USB ports on the keyboard to power anything useful. Now that could be down to the keyboard, the extension cable or the USB socket on the motherboard. Try connecting the keyboard directly to a USB socket on the motherboard and report back

From experience the usb hubs on a keyboard don't supply enough power to charge anything, like phones or tablets. With mine I can't even use a flash drive via the keyboards hub, I always get a message along the lines of I've exceeded the usb power limit. I think they are mainly for a mouse or headphones.

Strange though that the keyboard cuts out when i connect something to the usb ports on the front of the case.

Still having problems, now the board is cutting out just by itself more often. Just the mouse connected. Ive updated all motherboard drivers to see if it would help but no joy. Also uninstalled the logitech software for the old g15 and my g500 mouse.

Back to using my logitech g15, no problems with it disconnecting in windows or in game. Usb hub on it working fine, (usb 1.0 on this kb).

Yep, just now ive been on a bit of bf4 (test range section of the game). Using the strike pro board and generic windows 7 drivers as i uninstalled the ozone software. No issues so far in game or in windows. The only usb devices connected to the system are the mouse and the kb, both on rear usb 2.0 ports.

Edit, scratch the above. Disconnected when using one of the media keys while listening to some music and again with the system at idle. This new board is rated at 5v 250mA yet the older G15 which works fine is rated at 5v 500mA so i doubt its a power issue.

Bit of an update to this and hopefully problem solved. Tonight i uninstalled asus ai suite 3, this i was using for fan control. But as ive now moved all my fans onto an akasa fan controller i no longer needed ai suite. Plugged the strike pro back in just out of curiosity. Not a single disconnect during several hours of use. Im guessing that some kind of usb setting in ai suite was the culprit. Hopefully this may be of use to anyone who has a similair problem.
