What are the pro's/cons of getting a keyboard that connects to my PC?

I'm looking at spending around £100-150 and am just starting off the search so any recommendations and advice is most welcome.

I'm not too fussed about recording to a PC, but it would be a nice feature. I've been playing a bass guitar since easter and am looking to expand to a keyboard. I was definitely looking at 61 key keyboards with at least a few good instruments/effects.

My PC is:

E6600 @3.6GHz
2GB RAM
8600GT
Audigy 2 ZS
1.4TB HDD space
Logitech Z5500's (the weak part of my PC for music tbh)

Would my Z5500's cause an issue though?

any decent reviews for the M-audio Axiom 61

I'm only after a keyboard to learn to play it, not mixing my music etc, although being able to record what I play is a bonus :)

What about stand alone keyboards for £150? I'm just beginning to learn the instrument so I'd appreciate if people didn't spec silly priced setups :)

My speakers are pretty crap for music reproduction so I think it might be worth looking at stand alone keyboards.

In that case you'll be fine, they will be much better quality than most speakers attatched to any keyboard you will buy for £150.

I'd like to stress again that I would seriously recommend a second hand Yamaha CS1x synth, it doesn't just have synth noises it has a fullset of normal instrument and several drum kits. Oh and proper midi ports and knobs to twiddle.

One went for £75 a few days ago and one for £69 a few days before that.

That my friend is an absolute steal and will blow most keyboards out of the water, fantastic piano sounds some nice analogue style aphex twinish pads and a great Floydy preset called wish"U"here :)

Dammit, you may just end up bidding against me :D
Not likely as I don't use ebay and would much prefer new equipment.

Thanks mate, go tit working.

This software is the least user friendly thing I've ever come across, anyone have any recommendations for alternatives?

Ok, then a few questions to help me on my way:

I've just found out how to assign the drum pads as a separate group of instruments, any idea how I assign individual keys to separate drums?

also I hardly have any choice of "instruments", any idea where I can get more from (such as honky tonk piano, standard piano etc)?

It took me 2 hours just to get the standard keyboard working!
