How do I set my machine to sleep when I press the sleep key on my Logitech keyboard. In xp it used to work (computer shut down and light flashed - hdds, fans etc stopped) but vista all it does is put screeens to stby.

Any ideas - tried power setting etc, cant fing keyboard or sleep settings.

That is standby in both xp and vista, vista just has a worse standby mode.
If the light is flashing in xp it means it's in standby mode not in sleep mode.

You need to set vista to ''hibernate/sleep'' instead of ''standby'' when pressing the sleep button.

Unfortunaly, I can't find the button settings like in xp, probably because I don't have a sleep button on my keyboard, but when you goto energy settings, look in the left bar/menu, for me there's an option there to edit what the power button does so perhaps if you have a sleep button you can edit that too...
