Keyboard suggestions

As the title says!

Spilt my drink oer my current keyboard and the keys between Z and B no longer work...

As you will be able to tell by my spelling!

I'm looking for a new Mechanical keyboard preferably with quiet keys. IE the quietest cherry

I was looking at the corsair Gaming K65 as it's currently 33% off.

However I an get the Blakwidow hroma elsewhere for £111.

I would prefer a board with raised keys such as the K65 rather than sunk keys. But I would prefer a Numpad more.

Does anyone hae any eperiene with these keyboards?

Also does anyone know how the noise compares with the cherry M switches against the Razer Green ones?

Corsair strafe rgb with cherry mx silent switches.

Very happy with this keyboard it's my first mechanical keyboard and I can't fault it and it's super quiet.
Much quieter than my old logitech wave which I was using.

Neither board is great but stay away from the razer, build quality and aesthetic are rotten, and they use cheap horrible switches

Go to a shop and try out the various switches, any of them can have a slight noise reduction with the addition of o-rings, but it won't make a lot of difference! Be aware that how the switch is mounted will also affect the noise levels so it's best to try out the keyboard you are looking at as well =]

I did look at that not paying £140 though when the Red one is £80 lol

Yeh my friend on Steam who has one said to go with the other so leaning that way.

Personally i'm not too worried about noise it's because I hae housemates, I just don't want it traveling through walls during late night sessions. Do you know how good the o-rings are?

Can anyone clarify the difference between the

Cherry MX Blue, Red and Brown the website just confuses me with all the terminology as I have never used a mechanical keyboard before.

Blue & brown are similar in that they have a small bump when they are fully pressed. Blues click at that point, browns don't. Reds have no bump or click. The only noise you get is when it is fully pressed quickly at the limit of its travel the whole thing can click, which is what rubber domes are designed to dampen. If you release the key it will spring back up and click again. You can't buy anything to stop this with ordinary mx switches. Mx silent have built in damping at either extreme of travel.

There is a switch guide in one of the stcky threads in this section. I bought a ducky shine with brown mx switches after about 20 years of membrane keyboards and I'm not disappointed. I would say the the force needed to press the keys is less than I was used to but it doesn't take long to get used to it.

I can't offer any advice as I'm looking for one myself.

But I've just gotten an mx cherry switch tester, 4 switches, 1 black, blue, brown and red.

I've seen testers with more switches.
