used to be heavily into music - classical Violin and Clarinet - played in lots of orchestras etc
since working (for many years ...) - I've flipped the other way and been really into sports
but when I was younger - I always fancied getting a decent Keyboard/synth - have dabbled with playing in past but with very basic keyboards
I now have room and a bit of disposable income etc to be able to get a half decent keyboard
thing is I'm not sure how much I'll get into it - or how much my kids will play the keyboard. I'd really like my kids to get into music - as it was a big part of my life - and I'm hoping that a keyboard may get them started off
do I go - sort of starter all singing dancing keyboard - something like a Korg PA300 - or - considering keyboard will be in same room as PC anyway - go Midi controller - like a Nekta Impact LX61 - connected to PC
even with some additional software purchased - the latter is seeming to be a better option ? maybe even eligible for a educational version of some of the software ? not sure - both my kids at primary school, wife is a secondary school teacher
but I'd like to hear from others who are in the know please
any recommendations greatly appreciated
thanks
