Hi looking for a new keyboard something with positive connection but not over hard as have Raynauds and hard/repetative actions makes hands go numb as kicks it off so loose circulation!

Had my eye on a Qpad MK85 pro or K70 also the gamdias hermes ultimate

But eyes are open to other idea's

But want something back lit as can't see the keys other wise! as even with my desk having a led strip stuck under top i still can't see keys well.

That means lighter bottoming force being good in case of having some crouching/running key to keep pressed.
Also that key is usually pressed with pinkie, which is the weakest and most easily stressed finger to start with without having any medical condition.

From Cherry MX switches Brown and Red are good for that.
Red has linear force curve, but that just means it doesn't have much any resistance before actuation point.
So if you have only used membrane/rubber dome switches, it could easily cause accidental presses...
Unless paying attention to keeping fingers lifted, which could also cause some stress.
Brown has nonlinear force curve with some resistance before registering key press.
Hence resting fingers on keys doesn't cause as easily accidental presses.

Omron made Romer-G used by Logitech is quite similar to MX Brown with little faster actuation and less travel distance and would be quieter if you don't like noise.
With light coming from center of switch those have very even illumination of cap markings:
https://deskthority.net/wiki/Logitech_Romer-G
(Creative's Vanguard K08 also uses Romer-G or its slight variation)

If paying any more than basic price from keyboard I would suggest also looking that it has dedicated multimedia keys/volume control.
Any second function jerry rigs just aren't really functional and are PR BS features.
While having that direct volume control makes it actually usable.

Logitech G810 has now extremely good pricing for its features with full RGB lightning and dedicated multimedia keys
Quite a lot of even expensive keyboards lack dedicated volume control.

G910 with extra macro keys and fancy look is still at very good price but out of stock:

If I had such pricing here in Finland might order immediately.
Something little quieter than current (120€ priced at time) Logitech G710+ would be nice. (MX Brown with factory installed noise dampening o-rings)
With standard non transparent casing Cherry MX having LED at one side of switch it has also some cap marking illumination issues in caps with more markings.

Hi thank you guys for info.
I did look at the logitech G910 after being on here as get Gumpf from Currys/PC World(Dismal sales group) As quite like to set some macros up(but needs something easy to sort/do/remember& use as had luckily a small stroke a few years back so get forgetful/memory issues! my dodgey Roccat kova 2017(one before pee'd on this one)has buttons but can't remember how to do them! (first one i returned but often when pressing it changes dpi! im mouse limited as left handed

Did look at there keyboards the Pro and Rgb as was a few deals on.

Do like the look of the K70 and K95

Not too worried about media keys as only use usb headset which is plugged into a powered hub

But the main thing is back lit keys that i can see easily and decent keys i don't hover over keys i think apart from wasd in game but most often on the W key anyway.

My Roccat Arvo board is lifeless in use so your often tapping keys far harder than like to.

I should draw a list up i guess or what recommendation on keyboards are there apart from those as some end of life now!

I've got it the K70 rapidfire switches. I've been using it for 2months now and I absolutely love it.

The keyboard appearance just tops it off with its metal frame

Just had a look at the K70 there are quite a few which one is a better buy would you say?

I wouldn't say one K70 model is better than the other based off of switch and LED choices. They all have the same layout, build quality, and connections. The switches and LED choice (RGB vs Red or Blue) will be very subjective to your personal preference. Best recommendation is to visit a physical retail location with different switches on display or order a key switch tester from online. This will give you first hand experience with the different switch options.

Not sure if others have similar systems but in Logitech you can set it so that you can record macro using keyboard itself even during game.

Media keys control volume setting of Windows and affect any playback sound device.

Like said if you have chance to try different switches in real world you should do that.
You could write down name/model of keyboards to paper with some notes of feel if shop doesn't have clear information of switch type of that keyboard.
Doesn't take long to also be able to recognize keyboards which use same switch.

Did go into pc world in Tottenham court road before to look but most was using shop as a free game hub!!!

Found a K95 for £115 re 'hashed' whatever they do to it? on Scan RGB one using brown keys but not much of a multi media type just mostly game and browse

Cheers guy's atleast getting some idea's as thinking get a keyboard and get a new gpu later as then atleast can see the keys to use!!!

I've just bought the logitech g810. Best bet is go into pc world and try some of them out. The romer g switches were the ones I preferred. Low actuation point, soft but but not too soft that you get accidental presses when resting your hand over keys.

Hi yes been looking at the 910 earlier found £100 might have a travel into west end and visit them as they have a store with much gear out to play with.

So been snooping around the net!

in the K70 found RGB.speed.Lux,Strafe and a couple of others.along with the older ones

Also K95 in those versions and read most are discontinued just making the Lux version it said? i guess speed is a quicker switch? do like the RGB effect but guess not a deal breaker
Is there much difference between the newer ones and the older plain types they have as know there was a lighting issue fair while back on some but guess sorted now?

Also is there sort of any order of pref say between models in K95 as i think the lux had rubberish covering?

But want decent back lit switches as trying to see ones i have at an angle when playing with glare of light above as its a non lit board is awkward unless pull it under me nose!

One other thing is im left handed so key board is to my right.

Did find a Ducky Shine 6 with brown keys that someone said was good.

Bit out of touch with PC things these days

But since i had (luckily a small )stroke a few years back find life a bit challenging as get blank spots and can't always take things in so easily!

And there is so many choices but only a small pocket! lol:D

For what features G910 has that price is steal.
There are keybords without actually useful dedicated media keys and macro keys for half more...

Youtube is very good for checking how well keyboard lightning works...
If you just find good video.
Really annoying so many reviewers are more interested in showing off themselves than reviewed product!
Are they just advertising themselves or wanting to tell about product itself?

Romer-G's light works very well for showing all markings of key caps:
Standard Cherry MX has big problem in illuminating secondary markings which can be problem when writing:
https://youtu.be/3KHaZeLCT7k?t=4m19s

Transparent casing version of MX is needed to get as even illumination of markings:
https://youtu.be/CbPCqVsX-wQ?t=29s
Though transparent casing Cherry MX leaks easily light out from between keys/under key caps instead of light being focused to cap markings.

Corsair's keyboard design really accentuates that light leak for very fancy look.
While speech is in Finnish video shows immediately what lightning looks like:

Hi thank you much appreicated going to have a 'Waltzie' into the PC World store in west end later after been to see my specialist.

Hi well had a look in PC World TC road meant to be flagship store what an own goal! absolutly dire they have shut the gamers cabin so can't see anything working!
Had a look on the shelves there was two tickets for one item item it was under was wrong other items next to it had no ticket so no price and other ticket had no item so obviously no staff check there sections!
Looked at k boards no info next to item so had to dig around to find myself all seemed reds which now think i'd prefer browns if have more feeling!
Did find a Logitech prob next one down from G810? said romer they didn't seem to bad.

But in the end had to get out of there as place was cooking hot so uncomfortable and driving me mad no wonder DSG is called DISMAL SALES GROUP! pretty appat name.

Yep PC world is a store for genes consumers now who know next to nothing about computers. I went in there once for a graphics card and I knew more than the staff. They had no clue about the questions I was asking them ahaha
