hi there. i have been looking for a keyboard for a long time now, i thought i would ask the friendly community of ocuk.
i do not play any mmorpg games where i would need a macro so "G" keys are not important for me, the only thing important is for the keyboard to be no wider than 20". i was thinking of the razer lycosa but i have heard so many bad reviews about it. i want something that looks stylish but i doesnt have to be for hardcore gaming purposes. i only play FPS games so as long as it presses w c r and etc at the same time im ok.

can anybody recommend me a keyboard to get, and do u think i should get a razer lycosa or something else like the logitech illuminated keyboard or G15. i can spend up to 60 pounds if necessary. thank you.

G15, it is the benchmark for all other keyboards, original and best :)
G11 if you dont want the screen (this is kinda long)

I use the razer lycosa and Ive never had a single problem with it, its a bit overpriced but looks amazing. I play lots of FPS games and it does the job for me.

Saitek Eclipse 1 if you can get hold of one.

Love this Keyboard.

The Eclipse 1 is all Black with silver keys. Eclipse 2 looks cheap, silver allover with black keys and lights coming out of the sides etc....tacky

look at the Arctosa by Razer, same as the lycosa but doesnt have the illuminated keys and half the price because of that.

Poppycock.

Couldn't disagree with you more - whilst the Eclipse 2 isn't perfect, aesthetics certainly aren't its problem. It looks like a gaming keyboard - and gaming keyboards all look very similar anyway.

Personally as I sit here in the dark tapping away on my Eclipse 2 I think it looks gorgeous.

I love my Razer Lycosa! I used to use an OEM keyboard so the anti-ghosting was really handy! I didn't notice a difference in response time, but for a pro FPS gamer I'm sure they would notice the difference. Also the backlighting is really handy for playing in the dark.

All I would say is that it is glossy black, which gets dirty real quick.

razer lycosa- razer lycosa mirror looks perfect, its the look i would prefer over the g15 or the saitec.

problem with g11- too long.
saitec- dont rly like how it looks
razer lycosa- lot of reviews saying that it breaks easily

still not sure if i can just razer lycosa not to break on me

+ i asked ocuk about the ETA of g110, seems like after they answered me they put it up on the website aswell, so thats an option too...

I love my Lycosa... after i got through the problems.

Namely: I had to remove the badly positioned screw from the media buttons

I also had to put several pieces of thick folded paper under the keys area... there's not enough support for the pad underneath to stop some keys from working all the time.

Admittedly It's a badly designed keyboard, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone... But I do love using it.

-Also, the increased response doesn't actually show up, ever. The normal drivers for USB devices run at 125Hz, and the only way to increase that is to install different drivers....

Got it working at 1000hz on XP32, but I can't for the life of me get it to work at 1000Hz on Win7x64...

Im looking at one of these too to replace my trusty G15, simply for the fact you can change the keys to custom colours so I can match it to my system :D

whoever came up with the idea that orange is a gaming colour needs shooting lol
