Keyboards not working in Windows

I have a toshiba laptop, and the keyboard does not work once it loads windows.
It works when loading the bios, F8 works for safe mode options, and i can even use it to enter the windows password.
But once windows loads, in normal or safe mode it doesn't work at all.

Tried using a USB keyboard with the same results.

Any ideas?

You looked in device manager under keyboard?

yep its there.
and if i plug in a usb keyboard that appears too. no conflicts.

Download latest drivers for the laptop and reinstall them.

Or try uninstalling the HID from device manager and restarting. Very odd one. Does it work in safe mode?

I just tried downloading new sets of drivers with no success.
I did try uninstalling the HID and restarting, that didn;t work.
and no it doesn't work in safe mode either. (again i can type the windows password, but nothing after that)
