So what do people regard as the best quality thesedays ?

Not only for typing but for gaming too, although disregarding any of these nonsense addons like lcd displays, I'm talking pure keyboard quality, robustness, design, and performance.

I know the IBM Model M's are probably the best typists keyboards, but they look awful lets be honest, and I'm not too sure I could get on with mechanical keys in games.

How about the Razer offerings ? Any others ?

Thanks folks, I do like the look of the new razer stuff, partularly the lycosa/arctosa.

Not a fan of overly complex keyboards anyway so the G15 is probably out, I know its a great board but I just dont think I'd use all the extra's.

I do love the Model M's tho, I just dont know if I could live with 1 day to day. If they were cheaper I'd buy 1 on a whim to use whenever but I see them going for £50 plus !!

1 more thing that caught my eye, I do quite like the look of the Apple keyboard, what are everyones thoughts on those ?

The Apple keyboards are surprisingly nice to type on actually, I have one here from when I had a Macbook Pro, I kept the separate keyboard I bought with it and use it with my other laptop on my desk, I also take it with me when I travel as it's very thin and easy to transport in my laptop bag.

You have to bear in mind that some of the Mac specific keys will not work without Bootcamp drivers installed to map them to something else. And some of the buttons do not function as indicated on the keyboard under windows. Also, most irritating for me, the alt and command/windows keys on the left are the opposite way round to a windows keyboard. So your Windows key is nearest the spacebar and the alt is between that and the ctrl key, which is quite odd if you are not used to it.

Yeah I went to a certain PC supertore today and had a look at 1, I quite like it you know! I know what you mean about the command/windows key tho, I would be command tabbing instead of alt/tabbing I think lol.

Thanks Moeks ! I'll have a look round for the Hiper model see if I like it. The Apple still catches my eye tho, I dunno why lol.
