My next car has keyless entry, no choice in the matter really as it comes with an option pack. Question is, would it be better to keep the spare in a farady pouch or just take the battery out?

If the spare key is left at the house while the car is away, why would it need to be stored "safely".

When the car is home store it in the same way as the main key.
Because we keep the keys seperate, one is stored away upstairs in a drawer and the other one constantly used. I don't remember ever actiually having to use the spare with any car.
I'll just get a cheap faraday pouch for it.

They usually block phone signals (bluetooth/wifi/mobile data/etc.) as well, I know the one I have does (did  )

Anyway. As above, my pouch is no longer working, I test it monthly and this morning the car would unlock fine with the fob in the pouch, so I need a new one (I've requested a replacement anyway as it's less than a year old, but my guess is that's unlikely to last any longer).

Are the little boxes better than the pouches? You're not constantly wearing the material putting the key in and out, so theoretically yes? Anyone got any recommendations?
I’m looking at vonetti alpha shield box on Amazon. Not cheap but then neither is the car! I’d hope it will last longer than a £7.99 pouch.
