Does anyone here use keypass and can shed some light on this.

I was recommended the program from here some time ago and used it for a while although worked from home so only had the one instance of it.

I then started a new job and installed it on the work computer, loaded the file from dropbox and all seemed fine. But if I say update the passwords or add to the list in one computer it will ask if you want to save to the dropbox file and although on that computer your changes will remain, on my other computer which is meant to be looking at the exact same file, it doesn't update, only local changes are kept.

Any ideas?

The file is in your dropbox folder, and it is synchronised on both machines?

If so, then you need to make sure that dropbox locks the file after so long - you will then have to re-open it, and that should grab the fresh copy from dropbox. I use it on Work, Home, various virtual machines and both my android devices - all of which happily open the latest version

Sounds like a Dropbox issue rather than a Keepass one.

The only issue with Keepass is if the database is open and unlocked on both computers, and if you update one, the other can't update as the file is open. If you're making changes, you'll have to lock or close the database on the other computer. It's not an issue usually, as I think the default setting is to lock the database after a few minutes or when you minimise the program, but if you've set Keepass to keep the database open for a long time (I've got mine to stay open for days and trust myself to lock my PC) you need to know which database you've edited and has all your changes on it.

I don't think you can automatically synchronise databases within Keepass, though I think you can merge databases.

If it's just a case of you've edited one database and it hasn't appeared on the other computer because it's open on both, just close or lock the one where you haven't made the changes and Dropbox should update it.

Thanks guys.

Il have another look at it when I finish work tonight and see if I can fix it based on what your saying.
